Installation prerequisites

Our documentation will take you through the steps of installing DocRead on a test site in your Office 365 environment. We strongly recommend that this is done on a separate site created for testing purposes only. This will allow you to understand how DocRead works without impacting your existing content.

The installation process is simple and should take about 15 minutes. It must be completed by an Azure tenant administrator who is also a SharePoint administrator.

If you have any questions or need any help preparing for the onboarding session, please get in touch with us at support@collaboris.com

To ensure the installation can be completed smoothly, there are a few steps that we ask you to complete beforehand:

  1. Ensure you read and agree with the permissions that DocRead will request from your Azure tenant during installation.

  2. Create a site to test DocRead - Follow the instructions in this Microsoft Learn article on how to create a new team site: Create a site - Microsoft Learn.

  3. Enable the SharePoint App catalog on the newly created test site - This will allow you to install DocRead in isolation from your other sites. You can find information on how to create a site collection app catalog here: Create a site collection app catalog.

  4. Add the DocRead email sender domain to your email trusted senders list - DocRead services send email to users to notify them when reading assignments are created, become overdue, or are completed. To ensure those emails are received by your users please ensure that the “docread.app” domain is added to your safe senders list. You can find more information on how to do this here: Create a safe senders list - Microsoft learn

  5. Read the onboarding FAQ for answers to some of the questions you may have.

  6. Read the DocRead 365 SAAS Agreement that you will be asked to accept during installation.

Once you are ready to proceed with the installation please follow the installation steps guide.
