What is an onboarding session?
The onboarding session is designed to help you get started with DocRead and ensure you can make the most of its functionality. During the session, we will:
- Guide you through the DocRead installation
- Create an account for your tenant in the DocRead system
- Install the SharePoint DocRead app in your test SharePoint site collection
- Activate DocRead in a SharePoint site under your test site collection
- Assign your first document
- Demonstrate how DocRead can help you with your own specific requirements.
- Answer any questions you may have
How do I prepare for the onboarding session?
Make sure to read and complete the onboarding session prerequisites so the session can proceed smoothly.
Please note that if the prerequisites are not completed, the session would need to be re-scheduled.
Do I need an onboarding session?
We offer the onboarding session to all new customers to ensure that they make the most of DocRead in the shortest amount of time.
Who needs to attend the onboarding session?
We need the presence of an Azure Tenant Administrator during the session to authorize the installation.
How simple is it to install DocRead on my Office 365 environment?
The installation is simple and straightforward, and it takes about 10 to 15 minutes in total. However, we usually allocate 45 minutes for our meeting to cover all bases and answer any questions you may have.
What permissions will DocRead 365 request during installation?
As with any other application that integrates with Office 365, DocRead requires a set of permissions. To find out what those permissions are and why they are required, please have a look at this post.
How do I make the most of DocRead after the installation?
To help showcase some of DocRead 365’s best features, as well as providing a good overview of how the software works in your environment have a look at our QuickStart Guide.
Is there a migration path from DocRead on-premise to DocRead 365?
Unfortunately no. Due to the differences between SharePoint Online and SharePoint on-premise and the fact that most of our customers want a completely different site structure in SharePoint online from what they have on-premise, there is no direct migration path between the two.
We recommend customers keep a copy of their DocRead on-premise database for historical purposes. They may host this database on their current SQL server on-premise instance or transfer it to an Azure SQL database (serverless SQL is a cost-effective way of achieving this). Customers can then access the information using reporting tools such as Power BI. Our series of blog posts demonstrates how to link your on-premise DocRead database with Power BI.
What personal information does DocRead keep?
To be able to create reading assignments and send email notifications, DocRead keeps the following personal information:
- Email address
- User display name (First and Last name)
- User unique identified (Azure ID)
Where will my data be kept?
- The data created and used by DocRead is stored in the North Europe Azure data centre based in Ireland.
- To ensure the DocRead notification emails reach your users’ inboxes, we use a GDPR-compliant email processing partner called Postmark, which is based in the USA. You can find more information about Postmark here.
You can find a copy of our Data Processing Agreement here.
Can I get a copy of the user agreement I’ll need to accept during the installation?
You can get a copy of our SAAS agreement here.
